I can’t sign in
DebriefMD has no password. You type your address and we either email you a sign-in link or hand you to your institution’s login. Most sign-in trouble is one of four things.
How signing in actually works
Enter your email address and press Continue. What happens next depends on the address. Most addresses get a single-use sign-in link by email. If your institution has connected its own login to DebriefMD, you are sent there instead.
There is no password to forget and none to reset. If a page asks you for a DebriefMD password, it is not ours.
The sign-in link never arrived
Give it a couple of minutes first, then check your spam or junk folder. Hospital and university mail systems filter automated mail aggressively, and marking one message as safe usually fixes it for good.
If it is still missing, check the address you typed. A link sent to a mistyped address is delivered somewhere, just not to you, and the sign-in screen cannot tell the difference. Go back and request a new one.
The link says it has expired or has already been used
Sign-in links are single-use and short-lived on purpose. Anyone holding an old link out of a forwarded thread should not be able to reach your debriefs. Request a fresh link from the sign-in screen and use it in the same browser you asked from.
Some mail clients and scanners follow links before you do, which can consume a link before it reaches your hands. If that keeps happening, try requesting the link from a different browser, and if it survives nowhere, write to us. A scanner that eats every link is something we can work around from our end.
Which address should I use?
Use the address your program knows you by. Your profile address is where assessment notifications are sent, and program administrators match residents to their program by it. Signing in with a personal address and then setting a different one in your profile is supported, but it is one more thing to keep straight.
Coming back after deactivating your account
Deactivating pauses your assessment-ready emails and signs the device out. Nothing is deleted. Signing in again is all it takes to reactivate, and there is no separate step to ask for.
Deleting your account is the other thing entirely, and it cannot be undone.
Still stuck?
Email us and a person will look at it. Tell us which address you tried and whether you expected a link or your institution’s login.
Email hello@debriefmd.ca·Send us a request
Sending a request needs you signed in, so email is the surer route for this one.
