Getting your program set up
DebriefMD fills in your program’s assessment form, which means your program has to exist in DebriefMD before anyone can record against it. Here is what that involves and how to start it.
What a program controls
Almost everything you see when you record belongs to your program: the assessment form your debriefs map onto, the rotations you can tag a debrief with, and the administrative contacts who are told when an assessment is ready. Two programs at the same university have different forms and different rotations, which is why picking the right one at sign-up matters.
Preceptors are the exception. They belong to the institution rather than to one program, so a preceptor who teaches across several programs only needs to exist once.
My program is not in the list
Then it has not been set up yet, and this is not something an account can switch on for itself. A program is added deliberately, with its own form template and its own rotations, because the alternative is debriefs filed against a form nobody agreed to.
Write to hello@debriefmd.ca and tell us the program and the university. If your program director has already spoken to us, say so and we will connect the two.
I picked the wrong program
Tell us rather than starting a second account. Debriefs you already captured stay attached to the program they were recorded under, which is deliberate: a resident who transfers should not have their history quietly move between two program directors’ numbers.
For program directors and administrators
Setting up a program takes one conversation. We agree on the cohort and the block, build your existing assessment form as a template, and agree which measures the pilot is meant to answer. For Assessment Leads covers the shape of a pilot in full.
On what you can see: program leadership sees aggregate figures for their own program. Not another program’s figures, and not an individual resident’s recordings or transcripts.
Sending us a form
Send the form your program already uses and we build it as a template, field for field. DebriefMD does not replace your assessment form. It fills the one you have, so what comes out the other end is the document your competence committee already reads.
Still not sure?
Email us and a person will answer. Tell us your program and university and we will say where it stands.
Send us a request·Email hello@debriefmd.ca
Sending a request needs you signed in. Email works either way.
